I have spent the majority of my life in the beautiful state of West Virginia. I am a proud husband to a wonderful, hardworking wife, and father to an awesome little boy. Some of my hobbies and interests include writing (fiction, poetry/lyrics), drawing, painting, grilling/cooking, watching basketball and baseball, listening to music, and watching movies. I enjoy relaxing on a quiet beach, traveling, and the outdoors in general. I suffer from a serious case of 80's/90's nostalgia, like most from my generation. I like to stay up late, but I also love the early morning, so yeah...that makes for a lot of caffeine intake.
Throughout my grade school years I was always sketching characters and making my own little comics and stories, but in my teens and early adult years I wrote frequently, with drawing taking a backseat. Then a few years ago my wife became pregnant and it sparked something inside me. I made several paintings for our son's nursery and just kept on going. I found any excuse to create, whether it was home projects, holiday gifts for family, or sketches for co-workers. In early 2017 I was offered a long-term illustration gig from a New England area tech company, Alert Innovation, for which I have drawn over 140 employee cartoon portraits thus far, as well as several other illustrated commissions. I was recently accepted into the Tamarack art system as a digital illustrator, where I have entered a handful of exhibits. I always have several projects going on, as well as 1 completed independent children's book, as well as three others I am in the process of writing and illustrating. It feels good to say that I am staying busy and finally doing what gives me a sense of accomplishment.
Like they say, it's better late than never. What's humorous is that I had it figured out as a kid!
